Firefighters have contained a grass that burned approximately 105 acres near Lincoln.
Daniel Berlant, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said the fire near Watz and North Dowd roads in the area of the Highway 65 bypass was reported about 5:30 p.m.
He said there are a number of ranches in the area.
The fire "made some runs" with the wind, Berlant said, but it was reported 100 percent contained about 7 p.m.
More than 100 firefighters were on scene.
Berlant said this was one of a number of fires that broke out in the north part of the state late this afternoon as a result of the hot weather and dry vegetation.
