Hot weather increases concern for missing West Sacramento woman

Georgina Crespo copy.jpgWest Sacramento police seek the public's help in locating an 82-year-old woman who has been missing from her home since Tuesday.

Georgina Crespo speaks only Spanish. Her daughter reported that Crespo left her residence Tuesday and has not returned home.

Crespo reportedly frequents the area of the Nugget market in the Southport shopping center. Although she does not suffer from dementia, she may not know where she is if she is beyond a half-mile radius of her home, according to a Police Department news release. She refuses to take prescribed high-blood pressure medication, and it is not known whether she took money or food with her.

Authorities said Crespo is considered at risk because of her age and weather conditions.

Crespo was last seen wearing blue jeans with a brown corduroy jacket and usually carries a green reusable shopping bag.

Anyone with information regarding the woman's whereabouts is asked to call the West Sacramento Police Department at (916) 375-6474.
