The Sutter County Sheriff's Office announced that a two-month investigation has led to the arrest of a 50-year-old man and seizure of an estimated $10,000 worth of methamphetamine and cocaine.
About 7 a.m. today, a joint narcotics task force known as NET 5, assisted by the Sutter County Sheriff's Office and Yuba City Police Department, served a search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of First Avenue in the community of Sutter.
Authorities seized 13 ounces of methamphetamine, a gram of cocaine, seven marijuana plants, scales, baggies and MSM, which is used as a cutting agent for drugs, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. They also located an explosive device, which officials said appeared to be a quarter-stick of dynamite.
Investigators estimated that the seized methamphetamine and cocaine would have a street value of more than $10,000.
Taken into custody was Vincent Lopez of Sutter. Authorities said he was taken to Rideout Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into Sutter County Jail on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and possessing cocaine.
