Man arrested in Davis, accused of secretly filming under women's skirts

A San Francisco man has been arrested in Davis, accused of using a concealed camcorder to secretly photograph underneath women's skirts.

Lt. Paul Doroshov said officers were dispatched about 12:17 p.m. Sunday to the downtown area after a man was reported carrying a handbag in a strange manner while walking past females.

The officers contacted 45-year-old Peter Johnson in the area of Third and F streets. They found a hidden digital camcorder inside the bag Johnson was carrying. Doroshov said the camera was concealed in a container in an upright position.

Based on a preliminary investigation, officers suspect Johnson was using the camcorder to obtain a recording angle under women's skirts to film that portion of their body. A 27-year-old woman was identified by officers as a victim.

Doroshov said the investigation is continuing to determine whether there are other victims.

Johnson was arrested and booked at the Davis police station on suspicion of using a camcorder to secretly photograph a person under or through clothing.
