QUESTION: Dennis Martinez, 32, of Woodland was arrested for theft from an 88-year-old woman. He was supposed to be sentenced May 23 by Yolo Superior Court Judge David Rosenberg. Can you tell me what his sentence was?
Submitted by: Laura, Sacramento

ANSWER: Dennis Lee Martinez was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in state prison after pleading no contest to felony charges involving theft from an 88-year-old disabled woman, according to the Yolo County District Attorney's Office.

The victim and her daughter hired Martinez to do yard work over a three-day period, officials said. On the third day, the elderly woman, who is legally blind, let Martinez in the house to use the bathroom while her daughter was away. The woman later discovered that Martinez had stolen her late husband's wallet and had begun using his credit cards at different locations.

Martinez is incarcerated at Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy.
