ANSWER: Si Choy Saeturn, 28, a dispatcher at Astro Security Co. and the mother of a 10-year-old girl, was four months pregnant when she was gunned down in the firm's parking lot about 10 p.m. Dec. 29, 2005.
Six people, including Saeturn's husband and his mistress, were sent to prison for their role in her death.
Nai Loung Saechao pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of his wife. According to stories in The Bee, he hired a 14-year-old boy to kill his wife and unborn child because he wanted to start a new life with his mistress. The teenager, Xeng Saetern, was tried as an adult and convicted of first-degree murder. Saechao was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole and Saetern was sentenced to 25 years to life.
Also convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to Sacramento Superior Court online records, were Lo Fo Saephanh and Saechao's mistress, Mimi Le. Khae Saephan pleaded no contest to first-degree murder and also was sentenced to life without parole.
A sixth defendant, Chang Saephan, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced in October 2010 to four years in prison. His name does not appear in an online roster of current California State Prison inmates.
