Davis police are looking for a Dixon man suspected of being involved in recent vehicle burglaries.
About 6 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to 1809 Picasso Ave. regarding a report of individuals looking into vehicles. As officers arrived, they stopped a pickup truck that was leaving the area.
Two men were inside the truck. The passenger opened the door and ran off as officers stopped the vehicle, according to a Police Department news release. The driver was taken into custody and later identified as Eric Buenafe, 46, of Dixon.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered that several vehicle break-ins had recently occurred in the area, and evidence led them to suspect Buenafe and his passenger were responsible. So far, police said, they have identified three vehicles that were burglarized.
Buenafe was arrested and booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of burglary.
Police are looking for Buenafe's passenger, identified as Michael Cordell (pictured), 44. They said he is known to carry weapons and should be considered armed and dangerous. They advise anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts not to try to detain him but to call Davis police at (530) 747-5400.
