A two-week investigation by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department has resulted in the arrests of four people and recovery of property taken in four separate burglaries.
The suspects are believed to have committed at least four residential burglaries in Plumas Lake and another in Wheatland during the first three weeks in June, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
Officials said the suspects approached residences during the day and knocked on the front door. If they determined no one was home, they would go to the back door and force entry to the home. Once inside, they allegedly looked for electronic devices such and computers and video game consoles.
Deputies recovered two video game consoles, a laptop computer, a backpack and a bicycle during the warrant searches, officials said.
Devonte Abernathy, 19, of Plumas Lake was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and Forest Mathews, 38, of Sacramento was arrested for a parole violation. Kaneena Bryant, 23, of Sacramento was arrested on a warrant from Sacramento County, and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
The investigation is continuing in and effort to locate additional stolen property and identify other suspects.
