Help sought to locate 11-year-old Carmichael boy

Elijah Cowan0717_cowan.jpgThe Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in locating an 11-year-old boy who went missing from his Carmichael home overnight.

Shortly after 4 a.m. today, Elijah Cowan (pictured) was reported missing from his apartment in the 2500 block of Gunn Road. Authorities said he is considered at risk because of his age.

Cowan is described as African American, 5 feet tall and weighing about 80 pounds. He has black, curly hair and may be wearing a black jacket.

He is believed to be in the company of his sister, a 15-year-old white female, who is 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs about 110 pounds and has long, dark brown hair.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the missing boy is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115.
