Update: Robbers Fire burns first home

By Sam Stanton

The Robbers Fire in Placer County continued to grow today, destroying the first structures since it broke out Wednesday.

CalFire officials said the fire had burned one home and three outbuildings, although the could not say immediately where the burned structures had been.

Despite those losses, firefighters were making progress getting a handle on the blaze.
The fire had burned 1,950 acres by tonight and still was threatening 170 homes in areas near Iowa Hill, Foresthill and other communities. But CalFire officials said the fire containment had grown to 20 percent from only 10 percent on Friday night.
