QUESTION: Wondering what happened to the guy who struck and killed the mother of I believe six children in Orangevale/Fair Oaks. She was pulling out of the apartment driveway on Madison when he hit her in his truck.

ANSWER: Christopher Sandbach was arrested following the Feb. 16, 2009, crash that claimed the life of 38-year-old Angelique Mayo.
According to stories in The Bee, Mayo, the mother of five boys, ages 4 to 11, was stopped in the driveway of the Rollingwood Commons apartment complex in the 9100 block of Madison Avenue waiting for traffic to clear before turning east onto Madison.
Authorities said a white 2001 Ford F-350 pickup, driven by Christopher Sandbach, 45, of Orangevale was eastbound on Madison when it veered off the road and into Mayo's 2001 Chevy Suburban. The truck hit the driver's side of the Suburban, causing it to spin and come to rest on a grassy area. Mayo was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Sandbach lost control of his pickup in heavy rain. He was arrested on suspicion of felony manslaughter and driving under the influence.
According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, the charges against Sandbach were dismissed in June 2009. Shelly Orio, spokeswoman for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office, said Sandbach died before the case went to trial.
