The Sacramento County Coroner's office has identified the woman who died in a crash on Jackson Road Wednesday afternoon as a 62-year-old Amador County resident.
Janis Anita Lankford of Pioneer, Amador County, died at the scene of the crash in Rancho Murieta that involved a motor home and a pickup truck.
Assistant Chief Walt White of the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said rescue crews responded at 12:35 p.m. to a report of a collision on Jackson Road east of Murieta South Parkway.
Details regarding the collision were not immediately available from the California Highway Patrol, but White said it appeared to have been a head-on crash.
White said Lankford, a man, and a large dog were in the motor home, which was towing a boat. Lankford was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken by ambulance to Kaiser South Medical Center for medical evaluation. The dog was not injured and was being cared for by fire personnel.
The driver of the pickup was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to the Rancho Murieta Airport, where he was taken by air ambulance to Kaiser South Medical Center.
