Lincoln man dies in motorcycle crash in Roseville

A Lincoln man died when he crashed after losing control of his motorcycle in Roseville on Wednesday, police said.

Richard Alton Geitz, 60, and a passenger were on a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle about 5 p.m. Wednesday when for unknown reasons Geitz lost control of the bike while traveling south on Industrial Avenue near Galilee Road.

Geitz was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where he died a short time later, according to a Roseville police press release. His passenger, a 48-year-old Lincoln woman, suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Both Geitz and his female passenger were wearing helmets. Roseville's Major Accident Investigation Team is trying to determine why Geitz lost control of his vehicle.
