One injured in drive-by shooting near Yuba College

By David Ruiz

A Yuba County man was injured Thursday morning in a car-to-car shooting near Yuba Community College, said sheriff's Lieutenant Damon Gil.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., police received multiple calls about a gunshot heard near the 6000 block of College View Drive in Linda. Police had conflicting accounts on how many gunshots were heard, Gil said.

The victim was driving when he was shot at from another vehicle, Gil said. He said the bullet penetrated the driver's door and the victim was struck with metal shrapnel. Officers have not confirmed if the victim was struck with shrapnel from the interior of the car or from the bullet, Gil said.

Deputies are looking for suspects in a silver or gray four-door car.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.
