The Rocklin Police Department is currently investigating three incidents from Friday and Saturday in which shots were fired.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Friday, police responded to calls reporting the sound of shots being fired near Sunset Blvd. and Fairway Drive. Within minutes, officers received another call alerting them to a vehicle that had been shot by a passing car at Stanford Ranch Road and Park Drive.
The vehicle that was shot had a single bullet hole near the driver's side door. Neither the passenger nor the driver were injured in the shooting. The victims were able to describe the suspect vehicle as a dark colored Ford Crown Victoria, or similar type vehicle.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Rocklin Police responded to shots being fired into a residence in the area of Stanford Ranch Road and Park Drive. Residents were home but no one was hurt. Officers were able to identify multiple bullet holes at the rear of the residence and recover shell casings from the nearby roadway. The collected shell casings were of the same caliber as those from Friday's shooting.
Also on Saturday, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Placer County Sheriff's deputies responded to shots being fired at the Shell Gas Station on Taylor Road in Loomis. Several bullet holes were located in the business and one bullet is believed to have gone through the glass in the station's front door. Shell casings were recovered from the scene and are being analyzed.
Police are still investigating the potential connections between these incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call the Rocklin Police Department at (916) 625-5400.
