At 11:04 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the Pizza Hut at 9015 Bruceville Road regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers were told that two individuals entered the business through the back door and confronted several employees inside.

One of the intruders was armed with a handgun and fired one round into the ceiling, according to a Police Department news release. The two then ordered the employees to go to the front of the store, where they were told to get on the ground. The intruders proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of money from the register, then ran out the back door.

No one was injured during the robbery.

One of the suspects (left photo) was described as a man approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask and black hooded sweat jacket, white T-shirt, gray sweat pants, and black and white athletic shoes. He also wore purple, black and white gloves and was armed with a handgun that he held in his left hand.

The second suspect (right photo), possibly a woman, was reported to be about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, wearing a white hooded "Sacramento State" pullover sweatshirt, a black ski mask, black sweat pants, black and white gloves, and black and white shoes.

Detectives currently believe that the suspects are responsible for a robbery that occurred in Sacramento hours earlier, as well as an Aug. 11 robbery of the Holiday Inn Express in Elk Grove.

Anyone with information regarding the robberies is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357. Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering 274637 on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 and the message.
