Sacramento police have arrested a Yuba City man in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in January.
Sacramento detectives with the assistance of the Yuba City SWAT team arrested 32-year-old Sarbjit Singh Sandhu (pictured) on Thursday at his home in Yuba City. He is accused of forcible rape and kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault.
About 8:30 p.m. Jan. 24, a woman in her 20s was kidnapped at gunpoint after she arrived home from work in the north Sacramento area, according to a Police Department news release. She was blindfolded and her hands were bound. She was then driven to an unknown location about 40 minutes from Sacramento where she was sexually assaulted by two individuals, police said.
Sandhu has been booked into Sacramento County Jail.
Police said the second suspect involved in the crime has not been identified.
