Two male juveniles are in custody on suspicion of vandalism and burglary at an art supply store, South Lake Tahoe police said today.

Police said the suspects, ages 15 and 16, broke into the store Friday and stole $3,000 worth of spray paint and markers. Today, police received reports of buildings, signs and vehicles tagged with graffiti.

Police received a tip that led them to a residence on Silver Dollar Avenue, where they conducted a probation search and found two juveniles hiding in a closet as well as the stolen art supplies. Both suspects admitted to the burglary, and one admitted to tagging property, officials said

A third juvenile suspect is still at large, police said. Property damage is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call South Lake Tahoe police at (530) 542-6100.
