Sacramento County resident returns home to find alleged burglar in shower

A Sacramento County resident came home today to find a burglar showering in his home, authorities say.

The resident directed the woman, identified later as 24-year-old Jennifer Burgess, to put on her clothes and then detained her until authorities arrived, said Sacramento County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos.

Deputies arrived at the Park Road home to find the resident and Burgess talking outside the home. They detained Burgess and allegedly found some of the homeowner's possessions in her possession, Ramos said.

Burgess was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of felony burglary. She is being held in lieu of $50,000.
