QUESTION: What is the current status of the Richard S. Johnson trial?
Submitted by: VXSGUY, Antelope
ANSWER: A Sacramento County jury in June convicted Richard S. Johnson of sexually assaulting a child younger than 14 and also found an allegation of kidnapping to be true.
According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, Johnson, 32, was sentenced Sept. 4 to 25 years to life in state prison. He remains in Sacramento County Jail awaiting transfer to prison.
In February 2009, Johnson kidnapped a 13-year-old girl, stuffed her into a trunk and drove her to a wooded area where he raped her, authorities said.
