Citrus Heights woman accused of making false police report

A Citrus Heights woman was arrested this evening, accused of making a false police report that led officers to cordone off an apartment complex this afternoon.

Citrus Heights officers responded to the 12800 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard about 3 p.m. after receiving a call from Nicholl Schmid, 31, who said there were men in her apartment with guns and they wouldn't let her leave, according to a Police Department news release.

Police received information that Schmid was in an apartment with one man. Officers were able to contact the man, who came out of the apartment without incident. Police subsequently negotiated with Schmid, who agreed to leave the apartment, and officers detained her.

After further investigation, police arrested Schmid on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and making a false police report. She was booked into Sacramento County Jail.
