Judge sentences two to life in prison for pot robbery murder

Two murderers were sentenced to life terms in prison today for the Jan. 26, 2010, shooting death of a marijuana dealer during a robbery in a Stockton Boulevard parking lot.

Andre Powe, 23, will go away for 43 years to the rest of his life and Cort Milgrim, 24, was sent off for 28 to life in the sentencings handed down by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael A. Savage for the killing of Shawn West, 26.

Witnesses identified Powe as the gunman in the West killing. He was convicted at trial, while Milgrim, who acted as a middle man in the pot deal in a Jack in the Box parking lot in the south area that turned deadly, pleaded guilty during jury selection.
