Update: Man accused of paying undercover detective to kill pregnant wife

Sacramento police have arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly tried to hire an undercover detective to kill his wife, who police have now revealed is pregnant.

About 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, patrol officers received information that Hader Nasim (pictured) was searching for someone to kill his wife, according to a Police Department news release. Homicide and undercover detectives were called to investigate.

A meeting was set up between an undercover detective and Nasim to discuss the specifics of how and when Nasim wanted his wife killed. At the meeting, Nasim told the detective that he wanted him to immediately kill his wife in exchange for money, police said.

After discussing the terms of the agreement, Nasim paid the detective. Nasim was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of solicitation for murder.

The Sacramento Police Department asks anyone with information pertaining to the alleged murder-for-hire attempt to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357, or text a tip to 274637. Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
