A 44-year-old man has men sentenced to six years and four months in prison for engaging in sexual conduct with a minor in a restroom at the Carmichael Library.
Mark L'Ilith was convicted by a Sacramento County jury in August of six counts of child molestation. He was sentenced today by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Helena Gweon.
L'Ilith frequently visited the Carmichael Library at 5605 Marconi Ave. On two different dates in October 2011, he engaged in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy in a library restroom stall during business hours, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney's Office news release. The victim did not know L'Ilith. Officials said he met L'Ilith by chance in the restroom.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies arrested L'Ilith in December. They obtained a search warrant for his email account, where they discovered numerous emails between L'Ilith and strangers in which he suggested meeting at the library to engage in sex acts in the restroom.
