Roseville police are warning residents to lock up garages after a string of burglaries in which thieves have entered through open doors.
Most of the thefts have occurred during daytime when homeowners were either inside the house or working in the back yard. Close the garage door and lock the side door when away for any length of time, police advise.
Recent garage thefts:
In east Roseville overnight Sept. 1 someone entered a garage on Courtside Drive through a garage door mistakenly left open. A purse and bike were taken. The victim's bank cards were used by the thief to make purchases.
ï® On Sept. 1, during the day, a thief took a moped, a tool box and other items from an open garage in the 7000 block of Kelmscott Lane.
ï® On Aug. 25 or 26, a Sandburg Court resident had his gray metallic Gary Fisher 21-speed mountain bike stolen from his open garage.
ï® On Sept. 1, someone took an iPad from an open garage in the 2000 block of Fluxton Drive.
