Another death reported from Sacramento County house party

A second person has died in the wake of a violent house party in Sacramento County last month.

The Sacramento County Coroner's office reported on its website that Oscar Harris, 39, of Sacramento died at 5:50 p.m. Friday. His death was listed as a homicide, occurring on Daya Way, near Power Inn and Gerber roads.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies responded three times to the house party in the area of Daya Way and Countryfield Drive before it turned deadly Sept. 23.

The fourth time they responded about 2:45 a.m., after callers reported multiple shots fired, deputies found two victims, one of whom was identified as 19-year-old Dijon Augustine Smith.

He was pronounced dead on the sidewalk. Nearby, deputies found the critically wounded Harris.

Detectives have not released exactly what unfolded at the massive party, attended by what Florin-area neighbors described as hundreds of people.
