QUESTION: I was wondering if there was ever an outcome in the killing of Steven Carmassi? I cannot find anything recent online.

ANSWER: Three people remain in Sacramento County Jail awaiting trial in the 2010 shooting death of 35-year-old Steven Carmassi.
Dejohng Mariedenie Taylor, 23, Lactics Marcus Collins, 26, and Nathanial James Carter, 24, are charged with murder and attempted robbery. A trial for all three is scheduled for Nov. 13, according to Sacramento Superior Court online records.
A fourth person, Danisha Holton, in February pleaded no contest to being an accessory to the crime and is to be sentenced Dec. 14.
According to stories in The Bee, Sacramento County sheriff's deputies responded to a call the night of Oct. 29, 2010, regarding a white Chevrolet pickup truck that had crashed into several cars in the parking lot of Hard Times Billiards near Auburn Boulevard and Garfield Avenue in the Foothills Farms area.
Deputies found Carmassi behind the wheel with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
Taylor and Collins were arrested in early December 2010 after they voluntarily met with homicide detectives for questioning. Investigators alleged that the two had met Carmassi in a nearby parking lot to buy marijuana from him and that Carmassi was shot as they attempted to rob him of the pot.
Carter was arrested a few days later during a vehicle stop in the Kern County community of Weldon.
