Coroner identifies man killed in Florin Road motorcycle crash

The Sacramento County Coroner's office has released the name of the man who died last week in a motorcycle crash on Florin Road.

He was identified as Matthew Reade, 30, of Sacramento.

The California Highway Patrol said that at 7:15 a.m. Friday a passing motorist reported what he thought was a body in a yard at 9230 Florin Road. The home is being renovated and is not occupied.

Fire Department personnel declared Reade dead about 15 minutes later.

A CHP investigation indicates that he was riding his Harley-Davidson westbound on Florin Road when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle crossed the eastbound lane and left the road.

The motorcycle hit a barbed wire fence, throwing Reade into the front yard. It is not known exactly when the accident occurred, but the CHP said it probably happened Thursday night or early Friday.
