Coroner IDs woman accidentally shot by boyfriend in Natomas

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified the woman fatally shot by her boyfriend Monday morning as 34-year-old Desire Ann Miller.

The boyfriend, who has not been identified and is not in custody, told Sacramento police officers he fired because he mistook Miller for an intruder.

The shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. on Battlecreek Circle in Natomas. The boyfriend immediately called 911 and was cooperative with investigators, according to police.
