The Sacramento Coroner's Office identified the victim in Monday's south Sacramento homicide as Ruji Fang. Fang, 55, died from blunt force trauma and asphyxiation.
The Sacramento Police Department believe Fang's live-in girlfriend Yanqun Tan is responsible for the killing.
She arrested for the killing and remains in custody at the county jail.
Police discovered the Fang's body in a home on Emerald Creek Court, near Lemon Hill Avenue and the 65th Street Expressway, after being alerted by a female caller about a possible dead person at the address.
The police had not previously disclosed the nature of Fang and Tan's relationship. They are now calling the incident domestic violence, said Doug Morse, a spokesman for the department.
