Fundraiser for McKinley Park rebuild set for Sunday

Food trucks and live music will converge at Sutter's Land Park Sunday to help raise money for the rebuilding of McKinley Park's playground.

Sacramento City Councilman Steve Cohn and mobile food vendor organization SactoMoFo are planning the event, which will include a beer and wine garden.

The benefit will be from noon to 4 p.m. at Sutter's Land Park, north of the railroad tracks at 28th and B streets.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to rebuild a section of the McKinley Park's wooden playground equipment, which was destroyed by fire in July.

About a dozen food trucks, including Drewski's, Miz Shirley Marie's, Southern Foods and Swabbies, will be at the event.

Community fundraisers have netted more than $100,000 toward the playground rebuild. For more information, go to
