Homicide suspected in death of man found off road in Auburn

Auburn police are investigating a possible homicide after a man's body was found this morning off a roadway in the city.

Sgt. Dale Hutchins said police received a call about 9:20 a.m. from a resident who reported seeing what appeared to be body off to the side of the road in the 100 block of Park Street.

"There's a strong likelihood of homicide," Hutchins said.

He said the man, described as black in his mid 20s to 30s, has not been identified and little information could be provided pending an autopsy on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Dustin McLaughlin at (530) 823-4237, ext. 221.
