Man arrested after search turns up marijuana, guns

Sanchez-Moscoso,+Gilbert+19+-years-old.jpgA traffic stop Wednesday afternoon led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man on suspicion of marijuana and weapons offenses.

About 3:58 p.m., Sacramento police officers conducted a traffic stop that led to a warrant search of a home in the 8400 block of Hermitage Way, in the North Laguna area, according to a Police Department news release. During the search, officers seized approximately 15 pounds of marijuana, seven guns and approximately $20,000 in cash, officials said. The firearms seized were described as an assortment of handguns and two shotguns.

Officers arrested Gilbert Sanchez-Moscoso (pictured). He was booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, possessing marijuana for sale and removing serial numbers on a firearm.

Police ask anyone with information pertaining to the case to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357, or text a tip to 274637. Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
