UPDATE: Suspect identified in stabbing aboard boat in Sacramento channel

A man suspected of stabbing another man aboard a sailboat along the Sacramento River on Sunday evening has been identified by police as Robert Parke, 40, of West Sacramento.

West Sacramento police report that a group of people were on a 40-foot sailboat moored in the Sacramento Deep Water Channel when an argument began. Alcohol was being consumed, police said.

A some point a 27-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by a 40-year-old West Sacramento man aboard the vessel. Police responded about 6:30 p.m. Sunday to the boat at the Port of Sacramento to find the younger man suffering from several stab wounds.

He was transported to a hospital where he was reported in stable condition. Parke was booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
