Police arrest woman in connection with south Sacramento killing

Sacramento police have arrested a 52-year-old woman in connection with the death of a man whose body was found Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

Detectives arrested Yanqun Tan on suspicion of murder, said police spokesman Officer Doug Morse. She is being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail where she is ineligible for bail.

The victim's name has not yet been released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office. Police also have not yet released how the man died, or his relationship to Tan.

Police discovered the man's body in a home on Emerald Creek Court, near Lemon Hill Avenue and the 65th Street Expressway, after being alerted by a female caller about a possible deceased person at the address. Upon arriving, officers found the man dead in the home.

They also contacted the woman, who lives at the home, and detained her for questioning. She later was arrested, Morse said.

The motive for the killing remains under investigation, Morse said.
