Police investigating homicide in south Sacramento

Sacramento police are investigating a homicide of a man found in a home in the 100 block of Emerald Creek Court.

Police said they were dispatched to the house about 4:43 p.m. Monday when a woman with knowledge of the deceased person gave them a tip. Police did a welfare check at the home, and found a dead man inside.

Investigators said the woman who called police also lived at the address where the body was discovered. She is being questioned and investigators are working the case as a homicide. Police said it doesn't appear to be a random act, but no further information was available.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information on this homicide to contact Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES), enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
