Pricey gas is target of fuel thieves in Roseville

Gasoline thieves are on the prowl in Roseville, according to police.

Roseville police say that on September 25 someone damaged a gas pump at a Roseville Square gas station during a try at stealing gas.

Then, during the night between September 26 and September 28, someone pumped large amounts of gas without paying from another gas station in the same vicinity. A Roseville police public safety log notes that the thief might have used a fraudulent gas card or other device to steal the fuel.

The gas was pumped into storage containers in the rear of a black, four-door Toyota pickup. In the first theft, a dark colored pickup and a Ford Expedition were spotted at the station.
