Rocklin Police arrested a 26-year-old Sacramento man who they believe Monday afternoon attempted to carjack two vehicles.
Officers responded at a report of an attempted carjacking at 3 p.m. Monday on Sierra College Boulevard near Ridge Park Drive.
A man in his 20s exited a stalled sedan on Sierra College Boulevard and attempted to stop two vehicles traveling on Sierra College and force the drivers out, according to the department press release.
After his attempts were unsuccessful, the man fled on foot, after throwing the keys to the vehicle he was initially driving. Officers arrived and arrested Alan W. Rosa, 26, of Sacramento in a nearby field.
Rosa was booked into Placer County jail on suspicion of felony carjacking, felony child endangerment and a misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence restraining order. His bail was set at $110,000.
It's unclear from the press release whether the child endangerment charge and restraining order allegations are directly related to the attempted carjacking or stem from an earlier incident.
