Sacramento Coroner: Elderly woman died of strangulation, blunt force injuries

The 77-year-old woman found dead in her Robla apartment Wednesday night was strangled and beaten in the head, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.

Pathologists performed on autopsy on Kia Vue today and determined her cause of death was "ligature strangulation with blunt force head injuries."

Vue's family members discovered her in her apartment, where she lived alone, after not hearing from her for about a day. Sacramento police immediately began investigating her death as a homicide.

Authorities remain tight-lipped on the circumstances of the case, releasing no new information Friday. Spokesman Officer Doug Morse said only that detectives are working diligently on the case.
