Sacramento police are asking for the public's help in locating a 20-year-old man they suspect of breaking into a home and groping a woman.
The incident occurred about 1:20 a.m. Oct. 12, when a 36-year-old woman awoke to find a stranger groping her, said police spokeswoman Officer Michele Gigante. The woman screamed, and the man ran out of the house.
Police later identified the suspect as 20-year-old Johnta Lexus Waters (pictured at left), Gigante said. A warrant has been issued for Waters' arrest on suspicion of attempted rate and burglary, the spokeswoman said.
Waters is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, according to police. He has ties to south Sacramento.
Anyone with information about Waters' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637. Enter "SACTIP" followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
