Sacramento police seek help in finding missing 14-year-old girl

Sacramento police are asking for the public's help in finding a 14-year-old girl who has been missing from her family's Natomas home since Sunday night.

garner.JPGNicholette Garner was last seen about 10 p.m. Sunday, said police Officer Michele Gigante.

Sometime thereafter, she crawled out the window of her bedroom at a home on Pony Express Drive, Gigante said.

Police said she left a note behind indicating she was running away, but she did not say where she was going or with whom. She had never run away before, and police described the behavior as "uncharacteristic."

Detectives have contacted friends and family members in the Sacramento area and elsewhere in California but have not had any success in locating her.

Garner is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call police at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637. Enter "SACTIP" followed by the information. Callers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
