The Sacramento County Sheriff's Activities League has revived its "Friday Night Madness" basketball program for youths in the Oak Park area.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, teens are invited to the Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center, 4036 14th Avenue, for some basketball with sheriff's deputies and volunteers with the Sheriff's Activities League.
The free program is designed to build relationships between law enforcement officers and residents in the areas they serve, including youths.
Program coordinators also are seeking donations of frozen turkeys to send home to the families of teens who participate the evening of Nov. 2, as well as guest speakers who can educate and motivate the teens.
For more information, contact Charles Doss Jr, manager of the gym at the Family Life Center, at 737-7064 ext. 328 or Deputy Cary Trzcinski, head of the Sheriff's Activities League, at (916) 627-5606.
