QUESTION: Has there been an identification on the driver of the SUV involved in the double fatality collision on Folsom Crossing on Oct. 13?
Submitted by: Karen, Folsom

ANSWER: The two drivers killed in a head-on crash on Folsom Lake Crossing on Oct. 13 have been identified as Steven Schwartz, 28, of Orangevale and Steven Ray Rothenberg, 49, of Fair Oaks, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's website.

The crash occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Folsom police arrived to find a burning BMW sport utility vehicle and a Honda that had been totaled. Police said the BMW was traveling at "extremely excessive" speeds when it crossed the double-yellow line and hit the Honda driven by Schwartz.

Family members said Schwartz was the designated sober driver for a group of friends and had just dropped off his passengers.

Rothenberg also was alone in his vehicle. Because he was badly burned in the crash, release of his name was delayed pending positive identification.
