QUESTION: What is going on with the trial of the man arrested last June for alleged child sex abuse over a period of 10 years, Michael Nodine? I heard of his arrest and a trial date set in August, but it's well past August and I have yet to hear anything?

ANSWER: Michael Scott Nodine, 45, remains in Placer County Jail awaiting trial, with bail set at $1 million.
According to Placer Superior Court online records, his next court date is Dec. 14.
Roseville police detectives arrested Nodine on June 26 on suspicion of sexually abusing a child over a period of more than 10 years. He subsequently was charged with two additional offenses involving sexual abuse of children, according to police. Detectives continued to investigate Nodine's activities, believing he might have molested other youngsters.
He was thought to have contacted the alleged victims through family or social relationships. But authorities said Nodine also played video games and might have contacted children through Internet-based video gaming groups.
Nodine lived in Rocklin and Roseville during the years when the alleged abuse occurred, and worked in Folsom, according to police.
