Bad start to birthday for Arden Arcade gas station crasher

A driver lost control of her car this morning, smashing into the front of a gas station in Arden Arcade.

Ava Wynn had finished filling her car with fuel about 8 a.m. when she began to pull away from the pump. Wynn, a Natomas resident, said as she went around one car when her vehicle suddenly accelerated and eventually went through the front of the AMPM gas station at El Camino and Howe avenues.

Wynn's vehicle also hit a car during the accident. One woman sweeping in front of the AMPM minimart had to rush to get out of the way.

"It happened so fast, you can't even think," said Wynn, who was filling up before heading into work.

Today, Wynn said, is her birthday.
