CHP to accept officer job applications

For the first time in three years, the California Highway Patrol will accept new officer applications.

The CHP announced today that the department will accept online applications Jan. 3 through Jan. 5 from people interested in a career as a officer.

"Officers are needed throughout California," said CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow.

Applicants must be 20-35 years old, a U.S. citizen, have no felony convictions and be a high school graduate. Applicants must complete a selection process that includes a written test, physical ability test, panel interview, background investigation, medical evaluation and psychological evaluation.

Those interested in applying, or looking for more information, can visit www.chpcareers.com.
