A Sacramento Superior Court jury has reached verdicts in the Richard Joseph Hirschfield murder trial.

The verdicts are scheduled to be announced at 4 p.m. today, after less than one full day of deliberations on the part of the panel.

HIrschfield, 63, is accused in the Dec. 20, 1980, slashing and bludgeon killings of UC Davis students John Riggins and Sabrina Gonsalves, both of whom were 18.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty on HIrschfield with special-circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder during the course of rape, kidnap and oral copulation.
