A woman was nearly kidnapped at a Woodland shopping center over the weekend, police said.
The 31-year-old woman was walking between parked vehicles in the Westgate shopping center on Main Street Sunday afternoon when a man opened his truck door to block her path. Then, the suspected kidnapper grabbed the victim's hair.
Police said he pulled her toward the pickup but she screamed for help. A bystander heard her cries and approached.
That caused the man to release the woman's hair and flee eastbound on Main Street in his small, white pickup. The woman was not injured.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 30s with a large build, dark hair and a moustache. He was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and green pants - but no shoes.
