All northbound lanes of Interstate 5 have reopened after an overturned big-rig snarled traffic in south Sacramento County.
Officer Michael Bradley of the California Highway Patrol said both northbound lanes were closed by the crash, which occurred about 3:30 p.m. south of Twin Cities Road. Northbound traffic had to use the median until the tractor and trailers were uprighted. The lanes were reopened at 6:05 p.m.
Bradley said the northbound truck veered onto the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected and the big-rig overturned in the roadway. Bradley said the truck was carrying dry goods.
The truck driver complained of pain to his shoulder and was taken to Kaiser South Medical Center.
In addition to clearing the tractor and trailer, crews had to clean up a diesel spill.
