Sacramento Coroner: Natomas infant died of blunt force trauma to head

A 5-month-old baby boy who Sacramento police alleged died at the hands of his uncle suffered blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.

The infant, who has not yet been identified, died Sunday after being hospitalized Oct. 31 when his mother found him unresponsive in their Natomas apartment, according to police.

Taghap is expected to appear in court Thursday.

According to police, the boy suffered injuries while in the care of Taghap. When the boy's mother returned home, she thought he was asleep. She realized he was unresponsive when she checked on him later, and called 911.
